Group Expectations
Our group goals for the project are to ensure that we accurately share the story of our refugee community partner. We also want to make sure we use the editing skills learned from Audacity and other tutorials to turn sixty minutes of recording into a well documented 5-10 minute video. We expect everyone to put their best effort into making this project. We care about the entire process of making the video, so that means contributing ideas and organization are just important as one's ability to make edits in the film software. This means that we encourage each other to contribute in other forms such as keeping the group organized and presenting ideas about the film, and this is just as important as actually doing the editing. As long as we have participation, and collaboration we will be able to fulfill a team effort mentality in the group.
Group Procedures
We plan to use iMovie to produce the interview, and since we all have the program we can work collaboratively and individually in order to disperse the workload. We will organize the files in multiple locations to be safe such as computer, flash drive, and Google Drive. Google Drive is a good place to share the files because you can access it on any computer, and as a group we have already used it to produce other documents. Therefore we feel comfortable using this system going forward with the Community Partner Refugee Project. We will save the files with the name, date, and initials of person who shared/edited the file. We plan to have a meeting once a week on Monday anytime after class to discuss the weekly goals for the project. We will meet in the Global Heritage Hall or a collaborative space in the library. We set up a group message so we can text or call each other with any questions or updates when we are working on editing individually.
Personal Accountability
Every member is expected to do their assigned tasks. Missing a meeting is understandable given everyone’s busy schedules, but it is up to that person to find out what they missed and continually do their share of the work. Members that do not complete their work on time or not at all will be confronted about their lack of contribution. If they continue to not complete their work then the other members will bring this up to the professor when it is time to receive grades.
